Relaxed/Sensory

Relaxed/Sensory Friendly Performance

All patrons are welcome at our Relaxed Performances. We welcome everyone to enjoy the show in the way that is most comfortable for them. Perfect for our youngest audience members, those looking for a more casual experience, and individuals with sensitivity concerns or disabilities. The length and content of the show will not be changed but in order to make the experience more accessible, we will adapt the performance experience in the following ways:

Seating

  • A relaxed atmosphere allows patrons to talk and vocalize as they wish.

    • There is no ‘Shushing’ during the show. If you are someone who enjoys silence theater, this performance might not be for you.

  • Patrons are free to leave and re-enter the seating area as needed.

  • A quiet area will be available outside the theater for audience members to take a break as need.

  • We encourage patrons to bring their own noise canceling headphones and fidget if desired.

  • Several rows in the back of each section are designated as movement rows for patrons who wish to stand and/or move around as they enjoy the performance. Look for signs which indicate standing areas.

  • Some designated as a technology use area for patrons who wish to use tablets, cellphones, etc. as they enjoy the performance. We ask that patrons use headphones when using their devices, or turn the sound off. No photography or videography of the production is allowed. Signs will indicate technology areas.

Show Introduction

  • This performance will include a special "show introduction" before the performance begins.

  • Once the audience is seated, some of the cast and crew members may come onstage and introduce themselves to the audience.

  • A short synopsis of the show will be provided and warnings given for any "surprises" that are part of the story of the show.

  • Very loud noises will be reduced in volume.

Lights & Show Effects

  • Lights in the seating area will be dimmed rather than fully dark during the performance.

  • Flashing lights are eliminated from this performance.

  • All use of fog/haze will be eliminated from this performance.
